Rupert Murdoch has been officially blocked from making a “Succession-style” ploy to transfer power of NewsCorp directly to his eldest son Lachlan, his chosen successor.

This week, a real-life battle for Murdoch's media empire was fought in a Nevada court, with the court commissioner eventually denying the billionaire's bid to change a family trust and give control to his eldest son.
