Kyogo blows Matt O'Riley away as Celtic star admits returning hero has trait he's not seen before

Impressed Matt O'Riley admits returning Celtic hero Kyogo leads the line unlike any other player he has starred alongside.

The 27-year-old Japan international received a rapturous ovation as he made his comeback during the 7-0 romp over St Johnstone on Saturday.

Kyogo - who had been absent since Boxing Day - looked razor sharp during his 15-minute cameo against the sorry Saints.

O'Riley helped himself to two goals but reserved special praise for the Celtic striker who is set to have a big role to play after Giorgos Giakoumakis limped off in the first half.

The Danish U21 international said: “I’ve only trained with Kyogo a couple of times and I could see he’s a really top player.

“I’d heard from everyone else how good he was but you really notice it when you’re with him every day.

“The sharpness of his movement is not something I’ve seen before. He always knows where to be.

“There were a couple of times when I tried to thread the ball through to him and his positioning was top class.

“It’s a joy to play with him. For a midfielder he’s the perfect person to have in front of you.

“Giorgos Giakoumakis has been top class and that just shows the depth of squad we have."
