Kym Marsh says she 'could cry' with late-night snap after return to Manchester

Kym Marsh said she 'could cry' as she took to Instagram with a late-night snap. The former Coronation Street soap has returned to Manchester after kicking off her stint in her new role in Take That musical Greatest Days in Bromley.

Morning Live host Kym, 46, who is currently taking time away from her presenting role on the BBC One show due to her musical duties, stars alongside her daughter Emilie, 25 in the new production of the hit musical - both playing the same character as "young Rachel" in her teens and present day Rachel in her 40s.

On Tuesday night (May 16), Kym and Emilie took to the stage in Manchester where they'll continue to perform for two weeks in the hit Take That musical.

And being back up north means Kym and Emilie can get extra support from their nearest and dearest. Taking to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, the actress, who played Michelle Connor on ITV's Corrie for 13 years, posted a selfie of herself and her youngest child, Poppy, who she shares with her Hollyoaks star ex Jamie Lomas.

"My girl came to wat me tonight @greatest_days," Kym wrote alongside the black and white snap. "And she LOVED it!!!" she shared before adding; "I'm so happy I could cry!!!"

Last week, Kym dazzled as she proudly took to the MEN Pride of Manchester Awards 2023 red carpet with her family. The long-standing supporter and host of the annual awards night took a break from her new theatre role to preside over proceedings at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on Wednesday night (May 10).

The singer and actress said ahead of the awards on the red carpet: "I'm so excited. It's just a wonderful night. I love coming here and celebrating the people of Manchester. It's going to be a great."

Kym looked stunning in a plunging, off-the-shoulder black gown while she wore her silky dark locks in a classy updo. And she was beaming as she posed for the camera alongside her daughter Emilie, who she is starring in alongside in Greatest Days, Emilie's fiancé Mikey Hoszowskyj and son David before they celebrated Greater Manchester's unsung heroes.

And for Kym there was an extra special reason to be proud this year as her singer daughter Emilie 25, performed at the awards. On the red carpet, she said: "It's always a great night." But while the Pride of Manchester is inspirational and joyful, things also get emotional.

"I always struggle to hold it together," host Kym said ahead of hosting the awards. "But that is my job as the host. You don't want me crying all over the place but it is quite difficult. There are so many amazing people and so many inspiring people. It really is just a night to celebrate the people of Manchester and the great things they do."
