Kym Marsh's new family addition, sweet honeymoon and big new role

Kym Marsh shot to fame in 2001 after winning a place in the band Hear'Say as a result of appearing on the reality television series Popstars.

Since then she has gone on to have an impressive career, quickly becoming a household name.

The Whiston-born star went on to pursue acting as she played Michelle Connor for 13 years on the hit ITV soap Coronation Street.

Kym eventually left the cobbles in 2019 so she could work on other projects, and at the time, her exit was said to be a temporary year-long break.

But after appearing in films, dramas, stage shows and hosting a variety of television shows including BBC breakfast show Morning Live, Kym’s return is yet to happen.

The 45 year-old has a lot to look forward to - both professionally and personally - in 2022.

She will be busy presenting BBC ’s Morning Live and For Love Or Money, and has also just hit the road for the UK tour of the theatre adaptation of cult film Fatal Attraction playing spurned lover Alex Forrest.

Speaking of her theatre role, she said: "When I left Corrie it was because I wanted to try some new challenges and this is a role I’ve wished for for a long time."

The stage show features some saucy sex scenes and Kym said she was "terrified" about having to do them.

She said: "Oh I’m terrified, absolutely terrified. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been in the acting game for a long time now and this is something I’ve never actually done – it’s going to be a challenge in itself. But I think once I’ve done it once it will be fine.

"And it’s not real! It’s just another side to the part I’m playing. Obviously, taking some of your clothes off on stage is quite daunting, but it will be alright – I’ll just keep getting in that gym."

The actress also has a lot going on offscreen, as she has just announced she is set to become a grandmother for the second time and she also recently got married to new husband, Scott Ratcliff.

The newlyweds tied the knot in October last year in an emotional ceremony at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and the former Hear’Say singer says married life has been “really good”.

She said: "Life had to go back to normal straight away after the wedding as Scott had to go away and we didn’t have time to go on honeymoon after the wedding. We had two days together and that was it."

But the couple later had time to reflect on their new marriage as they booked a belated Honeymoon to the Caribbean.

Speaking of her honeymoon, she said: "It was amazing. I wish we were still there! We had a fabulous time. We stayed at the Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa. It was so nice to have some quality time together."

Kym's family is also expanding further as she said she is "very proud" as she shared the news she is to become a grandmother again.

Her first grandchild, Teddy, was born in May 2019.

Kym broke the happy news on Instagram, sharing an adorable photo of a number of baby scans and a babygrow with the words 'Baby Cunliffe' printed on it.

There was also a stuffed rabbit toy and an August 2022 calendar.

Captioning the post, she said: "I have been bursting to share this news for AGES!!!! I’m so very proud to announce I am gonna be a 'YaYa' again!!!
