Kym Marsh's Coronation Street pals out in force as they support Fatal Attraction play

Kym Marsh was supported by several of her former Coronation Street co-stars in Manchester last night, with them coming together for her latest acting venture.

The actor, 45, - who appeared on the ITV soap between 2006 and 2019 - has pursued other opportunities since her departure three years ago, including doing presenting work.

She however announced a few months ago that she had landed a leading role in the stage production of Fatal Attraction - based on the 1987 film of the same name.

The former Hear'Say member appeared in the play at the Opera House in Manchester last night, with a number of her former soap colleagues attending the press night event.

This included Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Barlow on the ITV show, and Antony Cotton, best known for his role as Sean Tully, alongside several of their current soap co-stars.

Others in attendance are said to have included Julia Goulding (who played Shona Platt), Sair Khan (Alya Nazir), and Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs), according to the Sun.

Kym was also reported supported at the press night by Millie Gibson (Kelly Neelan), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley) and Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Bradley).

And it's understood that Alexandra Mardell, who plays Emma Brooker, was also there - with the actor having filmed her last scenes on the soap this week, ahead of her exit.

Kym stars as Alex Forrest in the play alongside Oliver Farnworth - who had briefly been her co-star in Corrie - as Dan Gallagher. Susie Amy plays Beth Gallagher in the tour.

A synopsis teases: "When happily married New York attorney Dan meets charming editor Alex on a night out in the city, they commit to a night of passion they can't take back."

"Dan returns home to his family and tries to forget the mistake he has made, but Alex has different ideas. Dan's about to discover that love is a dangerous game," it adds.

Announcing her involvement last year, Kym commented: "Fatal Attraction has always been one of my favourite films so I'm super excited to share the news that I will be joining the cast of @fatalonstage in the role of Alex Forrest."

The play is based on the 1987 film of the same name, which starred Glenn Close as Alex and Michael Douglas as Dan. His character's wife, Beth, was played by Anne Archer.

The thriller was nominated for numerous awards following its release, including Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Golden Globe Awards and even a Grammy Award.
