Kym Marsh in tears as tribute to late son Archie unveiled as part of special memory wall

Kym Marsh was seen getting emotional on Morning Live earlier today when a heartfelt tribute to her late son Archie Lomas was unveiled at an art exhibition in Manchester.

The presenter, 46, and then-husband Jamie Lomas, 47, lost their newborn baby Archie - who was born around 19 weeks premature in 2009 - "a few precious moments" after birth.

She has been open about her loss and this week fronted a segment on the BBC show about a support group that helps parents who have gone through similar experiences.

Kym visited a support session at Whitworth gallery, where an exhibition titled Still Parents has been showcasing artwork that has touched those who involved with the group.

Kym met with members of the group for Morning Live and spoke about her experience, before visiting the exhibition's 'memory wall' that features the names of missed babies.

She revealed that the installation is "painted with the names of nearly 200 loved and missed babies," with her explaining that they would be adding one more whilst she was there.

The segment showed an artist adding her late son's name to the wall, with 'Archie Jay Lomas' visible as Kym perched down to get a closer look at the heartfelt tribute to him.

Kym - who has three other children - became emotional, with her wiping tears away from her eyes at one point. After catching her breath, she commented: "Wow. So proud."

The presenter expressed pride over the inclusion of her late son on the memory wall, with her stating on the BBC show: "I'm so proud to have him on this wall. It's incredible."

Speaking about her loss in the segment, she said: "It was the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I was absolutely devastated. It's the most painful thing I've ever felt."

Kym recalled feeling lonely and guilty, admitting that initially she couldn't talk about losing Archie. She said that opening up however was "the best thing" as it allowed her to heal.

Morning Live airs weekdays on BBC and BBC iPlayer from 9.15am.
