Superstar Kylie Minogue has revealed details about what she describes as her "emotional" return to Ramsey Street. The singer played Charlene Robinson on the Australian soap Neighbours for two years in the 1980s and has already filmed her much anticipated return alongside Jason Donovan to mark the ending of the show this summer.
Both Kylie and Jason will be back to Ramsay Street for an emotional farewell to the soap, which is wrapping up soon after over three decades on screen, much to fans' disappointment. Kylie left Neighbours and went on to become a global pop superstar after her stint on the soap and has now opened up about her experience of filming the finale, describing it as "lovely and emotional".
Speaking on Today Extra, The Mirror reports, she said: "It was lovely and emotional. Driving into Ramsay Street was quite something." Asked about her reaction to being back on set, she added: "Firstly, where's all that time gone? Secondly, everything looks exactly the same. Thirdly, Scott, Charlene, Jane, Harold - it all just came flooding back."

Although she couldn't say much about her final appearance on the show, she did give a few clues. The singer said: "There was a lot of talking about memories and going back in time," she shared of the experience. Executive producer Jason Herbison previously confirmed on the soap's Instagram account that the pair would be back, adding: "Scott and Charlene are the ultimate Neighbours couple and it would not feel right to end the show without them.
Herbison said: "We are thrilled that Jason and Kylie have come home to play a very special part in our series finale. It has been an emotional experience for them, for us and I'm sure it will be for our viewers."
Fans were left emotional by the news, with one writing: "Amazing way to finish the show off, hats off to Kylie & Jason for been part of #CelebratingNeighbours. This makes me happy to see him and @kylieminogue back on the show. Tissues will be at the ready. This is where I first became a huge fan of Jason seeing him on Neighbours on his first episode."
Another added: "Ooooo exciting. But I'd rather the show just continues." Neighbours was axed after Channel 5 pull the plug on the show, with Fremantle Media confirming they were ceasing production of the Aussie soap in June, with the final scenes being aired later in the summer.
