Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan set for Neighbours return

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan have secretly filmed scenes for their return to Neighbours. The pair enjoyed a Ramsay Street reunion last week, according to the Daily Star.

Kylie and Jason, whose characters Charlene Mitchell and Scott Robinson married in 1987, shot scenes at Pin Oak Court in Vermont South. Australian newspaper Herald Sun has reported it will be a "fairytale ending" for the characters. Kylie and Jason both shared pictures on Instagram of what looks like a Neighbours script.

Bosses are hoping to convince a string of big names to return to the show for the final episodes, with production set to end on June 10. The Australian soap has been running for 37 years.

Kylie left the show in 1988, leaving many fans at the time disappointed, with Jason quitting a year later as both pursued music careers. Kylie achieved international stardom with a string of hits including I Should Be So Lucky, Better The Devil You Know and Can't Get You Out Of My Head over her four-decade career.

Donovan topped the charts with hits such as Too Many Broken Hearts before embarking on a successful stage career. He has also presented on Heart Radio and last year took part in Dancing On Ice.

After it was announced that Neighbours would be axed, Kylie shared her gratitude towards the show which catapulted her to fame. She said on Twitter: "I’ll be forever grateful for the experience and the friends I made on @neighbours. We had no idea how big the show would become and how passionately viewers would take it to heart," she wrote.

"Pure love! I can still hear Madge calling … CHARLENE!!!"

Scott and Charlene's wedding became one of the biggest moments in Australian television, with two million Aussies and almost 20 million viewers in Britain tuning in to Episode 523 of Neighbours to see them tie the knot.
