Kylian Mbappé, the star forward for Real Madrid, will be absent from the team's preseason tour of the United States. Mbappé, who recently led France to the semifinals of Euro 2024, is currently on holiday and will not participate in Madrid's upcoming friendlies against AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea as part of the Soccer Champions Tour.
Joining Mbappé in missing the tour are Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal, who were also involved in Euro 2024. Bellingham represented England, while Carvajal played for Spain in the final. Both players are on vacation following their international duties.
Real Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has included promising Brazilian forward Endrick in the 26-man squad for the tour. Endrick, who recently turned 18, made a permanent transfer to Madrid from Palmeiras. His Brazilian compatriots Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo Goes are part of the squad but are expected to join the team later.
Ancelotti has also included 12 youth players in the traveling squad, showcasing Madrid's commitment to nurturing young talent. Mbappé is set to link up with the team immediately after the U.S. tour and is anticipated to make his debut for Madrid against Atalanta in the European Super Cup on August 14.
The highly-anticipated tour will see Real Madrid face AC Milan at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 31, followed by a showdown against arch-rivals Barcelona on August 3 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tour will conclude with a match against Chelsea on August 6 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
