Kylian Mbappe's touching shirt gesture to Nathan Patterson after France vs Scotland

Jacob Brown has revealed that Nathan Patterson was the lucky Scotland squad member to land Kylian Mbappe's shirt after Steve Clarke's side were defeated by France on Tuesday.

The Scots, who qualified for the Euros in Germany last Sunday, were defeated 4-1 by Didier Deschamps' side in a friendly showdown in Lille.

Scotland opened the scoring through Billy Gilmour, but ultimately France's class shone through and they turned on the style in front of a bumper home crowd.

Former Rangers youngster Patterson, who is now plying his trade for Everton in the Premier League, played 89 minutes up against Mbappe and Luton frontman Brown has revealed that he was rewarded with his shirt for his tireless efforts.

He explained to Sky Sports: "Na, I didn't manage to get it. I did get a shirt but Mbappe's went quite quick.

"Nathan Patterson got it. He was marking him for the full game so it was only fair he got his shirt."

On his delight at playing for Scotland, Brown added: "The result against France, which is the main thing, wasn't the result that we wanted.

"The experience was good though, playing against one of the best teams in the world.

"To get on and actually show what I can do was good. I had a few chances too which was positive.

"I have had seven caps now, which is good. For us to qualify for the Euros is a big achievement.

"I am just trying to work hard each time to get called up and to get some minutes."
