Kylian Mbappe's mum makes Liverpool 'point' as World Cup picture emerges

Kylian Mbappe's mother has been pictured posing next to a Liverpool supporter - pointing at the club crest as the image was taken.

Fayza Lamari, the mother of the Paris Saint-Germain star, has been cheering on her son at the World Cup in Qatar and will have been pleased with what she has seen so far after witnessing France get the better of England to reach the semi-final of the tournament.

Ahead of the quarter-final meeting between the teams, Mbappe was seen trying to engage with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson but was seemingly blanked by the midfielder as he attempted to remain focused before kick-off.

France's talisman is someone who has continued to be linked with the Reds in recent years, though the finances that would be involved in a deal to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield is what makes this a transfer unlikely to occur.

Mbappe himself has expressed his admiration for Jurgen Klopp's side and revealed earlier this year he held talks with Liverpool over a possible move five years ago, perhaps influenced by one of his parents.

His mum's 'favourite club' is the Reds, as explained by the 2018 World Cup winner himself, and the recent picture that has emerged of Fayza Lamari would suggest this is certainly the case.

“We talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit," Mbappe told the Telegraph earlier this year in relation to where he could have ended up before signing for Monaco in 2017.

He added: "I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”

Posting the image of Ms Lamari to Twitter on Saturday, @TheRiskOffic said: "Ok just to put a brightener on the England loss for liverpool fans.. this is my boy.. I will not say what she said but this is @KMbappe mum".
