Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is the most valuable player on the planet according to the CIES Football Observatory.
CIES determine a player's transfer value by citing factors such as their salary, their respective club's performance in different competitions and the length of time still remaining on their current contract. This would go some way to explaining Mbappe's position at top spot.
Mbappe shook European football to its core recently when he snubbed a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in favour of staying put in the French capital. His decision came as a huge shock to many given last summer it seemed like a done deal that he would up sticks to the Santiago Bernabeu once his PSG contract had expired.
Instead, he was eventually persuaded to remain at the Parc Des Princes after being offered an eye-watering £650,000-a-week contract by the Ligue 1 champions that could arguably change the landscape of football for good. The football observatory value the World Cup winner at a staggering £175million - though that figure would not break the current world transfer record set five years ago by his teammate Neymar.
His nearest challenger comes in the form of Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr, who recently scored the winner for Los Blancos against Liverpool in this season's Champions League final. The Brazilian's goal secured a 14th Champions League title for the club.
At just 21 years of age, Vinicius is valued by the football observatory at £158m - a number made even more incredible when factoring in Real Madrid paid Flamengo just £46m for his services five years ago.

The first Premier League name to enter the top ten comes in at third, though it is a player who is yet to actually play a game in English football just yet. Erling Haaland's move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City has been confirmed, but he will not feature in a competitive fixture for Pep Guardiola's side until August at the earliest.
Fourth and fifth spot go to two teenage midfield sensations in Barcelona's Pedri and Haaland's former teammate Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. The former is valued at £115m, while the former Birmingham prodigy comes in just below at £114m.
Sixth sees a second Premier League entry and it goes to another young Manchester City star Phil Foden. Arguably England's brightest prospect, the Etihad fan-favourite has established himself as a regular for one of the best sides the English top flight has ever seen. It is for that reason he is valued at £106m.
If Manchester United are to be successful in their pursuit to sign Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong, it should not come cheap according to CIES. The Netherlands international is the seventh most valuable player on the planet with an estimated worth of £96m, though he could go for much cheaper in reality due to the Catalan titans perilous financial position.
Liverpool's January addition Luis Diaz has lit up the Premier League since he arrived at the turn of the year and as a result comes in at eighth on this table. The Colombian international is valued at £94million - more than £40m more than what the Reds actually paid FC Porto for him six months ago.
In ninth is one of Diaz's title rivals in Manchester City defender Ruben Dias - the only central defender in the top 10. The Portugal international is estimated to be worth £93.7m thanks to his stellar showings at the heart of City's title-winning defence.
Concluding the top ten is someone who could be deemed a surprise entry and a former teammate of Dias' at the Etihad - Barcelona star Ferran Torres at £93.6m valuation. The Spaniard failed to truly catch light in the Premier League and has hardly enjoyed a scintillating start to life at the Camp Nou with four La Liga goals in 18 appearances.
