FIFA 22 cover star Kylian Mbappe has revealed the hilarious reason why he refuses to play FUT Champions Weekend League on FIFA 22.
In a recent video with GotagaTV, the Paris Saint-Germain superstar admitted he doesn't compete in FUT Champions on FIFA 22 anymore but still plays Ultimate Team. EA Sports restructured FUT Champions for FIFA 22, spreading it out throughout the week with the introduction of the Champions Play-Offs and Finals. Mbappe is just one of many professional footballers that play EA Sports' popular football game, with Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies and PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi all playing the game and streaming it live on Twitch.

During GotagaTV's live stream on Twitch, Mbappe was asked if he still plays FIFA 22 regularly and admitted that he doesn't play the FUT Champions game mode in Ultimate Team anymore.
"I stopped playing FUT Champions because it affects my mind," the 23-year-old said whilst gritting his teeth and then laughing, echoing the thoughts of many FIFA 22 Ultimate Team players around the world!
FUT Champions is the most competitive competition within the popular Ultimate Team game mode on FIFA and Mbappe's admission suggests that even the PSG and France star gets frustrated.
FUT Champions was restructured by EA for FIFA 22 moving to a points-based system this year, rather than wins, so players still make progress even if you lose and the updates aimed to strike a balance between the previous time commitments while still offering a competitive experience and rewards.
To get access to FUT Champions, players earn Champions Qualification Points in Division Rivals and once you’ve accumulated enough points, you’ll be automatically entered into the Play-Offs.
The Champions Play-Offs are the first leg of the overall FUT Champions competition, and it is open for the duration of a FUT Season, approximately 6 weeks long. Players progress through a limited number of games, earning points toward Champions Ranks and Rewards. The more points earned by a player, the better their rewards will be once all games have been completed or when the weekend competition ends.
If you earn enough points, you will unlock a Finals Qualification Token granting access to the Champions Finals, and allowing you to continue participating in the competition. If you did not make it to the Finals, you can always return to the Play-Offs after re-qualifying through Rivals.
The FUT Champions Finals will take place on weekends, using the same duration that was used for the Weekend League in FIFA 21. The Finals Qualification Token gives you the flexibility to enter the competition on your schedule.
Powered by Football, EA SPORTS FIFA 22 brings the game even closer to the real thing with a new season of innovation across every mode and groundbreaking next-gen HyperMotion gameplay technology on PlayStation5 that elevates every moment of the match.
