Kyler Murray Exits After Suffering Knee Injury vs. Patriots

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will not return against the Patriots on Monday Night Football after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter.

Arizona initially listed Murray out as questionable to return before downgrading him to out before the end of the quarter. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the initial fear is that Murray suffered a serious knee injury, but is slated to undergo an MRI and other tests to confirm the severity.

The Cardinals star exited MNF after going down with what appeared to be a non-contact injury while scrambling upfield on the third play of the game.

The State Farm Stadium crowd fell completely silent as the Cardinals medical staff tended to the star QB for several minutes as he laid on the ground. Murray, with a towel draped over his head, was eventually carted off the field to the locker room.

With Murray’s Week 14 officially over, it remains to be seen where things stand with the signal-caller in the coming days in the midst of a challenging season concerning his health. He also missed Weeks 10 and 11 after suffering a hamstring injury against the Seahawks in Week 9.

Entering MNF, Murray compiled 2,359 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 starts.
