The Philadelphia 76ers are set to bring hometown hero Kyle Lowry back to the team after he was waived by the Charlotte Hornets. Lowry plans to sign a $2.8 million rest-of-season deal with the Sixers using a portion of their mid-level exception. Once the signing is official, the Sixers will still have two open roster spots and will be below the luxury-tax line.
The team has plenty of options to consider with their remaining roster spots. They could use their mid-level exception to sign players to minimum-salary contracts for up to four years. However, their focus is likely on maintaining flexibility for the offseason, where they could potentially create $65 million in cap space.
