KY nonprofits have another chance at getting state help

Kentucky nonprofits have another chance to apply for help from the state government. The Team Kentucky Nonprofit Assistance Fund has reopened for another round of applications. This window is for groups that have not already applied to the fund for assistance.

Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman made the announcement during last week’s Team Kentucky briefing. She said there is a lot of money available.

“Awards of up to $100,000 in unrestricted funds are available for qualified applicants. Nonprofits can learn more and apply at teamkynonprofitfund.ky.gov,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

She said the original window was not a great time for some groups.

“For many of our hard-working organization operating in eastern Kentucky, this fund originally opened when they were in “rescue mode.” So, our hope is that, in extending this application time, it gives them as well as other another opportunity to apply.”

Coleman said, so far, over one-thousand nonprofits have applied to the fund. They have requested around $68-million dollars to support their plans after COVID-19 disruptions. The new application window closes on November 16th.
