Kuwait's Ambassador to Lebanon Abdelaal Al-Qenaei announced on Tuesday that his country's initiative is a "success."
He held talks with parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut, declaring afterwards that the initiative will be the "basis for further bolstering relations between brothers."
Berri also met with Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari for talks on latest developments and bilateral ties.
Qenaei said he conveyed to the speaker the greetings of the Kuwaiti leadership and people and "best wishes for security and stability" in Lebanon.
Berri expressed to the ambassador his hope that fraternal relations between Beirut and Kuwait would continue based on the mutual interest of both countries and peoples, the diplomat said.
Qenaei stated that his visit to the speaker was "the greatest testament that the initiative was a success."
Berri conveyed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership for launching the initiative that stems from its keenness on maintaining relations between Lebanon and the Gulf.
Kuwait had proposed its initiative earlier this year. The 12-point proposal covers confidence-building measures to mend relations between Lebanon and the Gulf.
