KSI backed to record "easy" KO win over Tommy Fury after pair clashed in face-off

David Haye has surprisingly backed KSI to record an "easy" KO win over Tommy Fury if the pair go head-to-head.

YouTube star KSI made his latest bow in the ring this weekend taking on ex-professional Joe Fournier and earning a victory by controversial second-round KO. Despite wobbling his rival with a powerful right hand, footage showed that KSI appeared to use his forearm to drop Fournier which ultimately ended the contest in controversial fashion.

Despite the possibility of the pair now taking on a rematch, KSI came face-to-face with Fury who climbed in from ringside to talk up a potential showdown next. A heated altercation broke out between the pair who were separated by a sea of security, with final negotiations understood to be taking place over a fight later this year.

And boxing legend David Haye, who watched friend Fournier lose to KSI, insisted that the influencer would get the upper hand despite his convincing win over Jake Paul. “I think he [KSI] beats Tommy Fury. And if he’s allowed elbows as well, for sure," he joked in an interview with iFL TV.

“Even without the elbows, I think he definitely beats Tommy Fury. With his timing and rhythm, I was really impressed. I didn't think he needed to do that, they will go back through the rules.” It remains unclear if KSI intends to run it back with Fournier, but for now the plan appears to be to step in the ring with Fury.

'TNT' has already shown his ability to outclass an influencer having beaten Jake Paul by split decision with a neat display in their Saudi Arabia clash earlier this year. However KSI is confident he has what it takes to step up and beat the undefeated professional fighter, to go one step further than his YouTube rival.

And prior to his contentious victory, KSI explained how he would forego a contest with Paul to give himself a chance of making a statement by beating Fury. “F*** Jake Paul, I’m fighting Tommy Fury and I’m going to show the world what I can do," he told talkSPORT.

"I think Tommy Fury would be a great test for me. I love being tested, I love pushing myself and what I also love is that everyone is instantly counting me out. People think I’m the underdog and there’s no way I have a chance of winning, but I’m like ‘cool, put me in there then, let’s see’. I love it, I’m here for it and imagine when I come through and knock him out.

"I feel that I can [KO] him, I have the power and the pace. “Tommy let’s f***ing do this bro, don’t be a b****, don’t be a p****. I’m here, I’m ready, I’m going to do what Jake Paul couldn’t do, I’m here for it. I think it would do crazy numbers and for me that’s what I want.”
