KSI announces Dillon Danis as next boxing opponent after weigh-in brawl

KSI will take on Dillon Danis on January 14 in London next year after the pair brawled at Friday's Misfits Boxing weigh-in.

The Brit was in Austin, Texas to officially confirm his ring return, which will take place at the Wembley Arena next year after his successful comeback event in August. He knocked out two fighters that night, including 2-5 professional boxer Luis Pineda and rapper Swarmz, but faces a much tougher test in Danis.

KSI took to the ring at the Moody Center ahead of Saturday night's main event between Deen The Great and Walid Sharks to confirm the match-up, with Danis stepping in shortly after for a face-off. Speaking with Wade Plemons on the broadcast on DAZN, he announced that he would face the Bellator star.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am fighting Dillon Danis," he said, before the 2-0 MMA star made the walk into the ring for another face-off between the pair. They had scrapped at Friday's weigh-in with Danis laying hands on the Brit before throwing coffee at him and getting into a scrap with Jake Paul's former sparring partner Anthony Taylor in the car park.

Danis went on stage to talk to KSI who had just completed the weigh-in proceedings, before chaos descended after Danis threw a sucker punch. A new video posted by promoter Kalle Sauerland showed the altercation unfolding on stage and how it began.

KSI tried to get through a wave of security guards who had descended on stage which included host Plemons and promoter Sauerland. The YouTube star was grabbed and carried away from the scene of the clash and taken to the other side of the stage, while Danis was escorted to the back of the stage.

The pair shared aggressive words in the ring that were mostly unintelligible, before KSI declared: "Best believe, January 14, you're finished. I am the nightmare KSI. Look at me in the eyes, no-one trains as hard as me, no-one is as good as me, you'll see - watch, bro."

Their fight will be a DAZN pay-per-view, and comes after talks broke down between KSI and Tyron Woodley over rehydration and weight. KSI has told Woodley he will gladly fight him once he gets back in the win column after a skid that includes four losses in the UFC and two defeats in the boxing ring to Jake Paul last year including a brutal knockout in their rematch.
