KSI and Logan Paul will put friendship to the side when he fights Jake Paul next year

KSI and Logan Paul's newfound friendship will be parked for a few months when the chart-topping rapper takes on the latter's brother, Jake, next year.

The elder Paul brother faced KSI in two epic six-round battles in 2018 and 2019, with the Brit ultimately taking the victory after a draw in their first meeting. Since then, they have established a close friendship and launched an energy drink called Prime, which has become a massive seller in America and the UK.

But they will become enemies once again when KSI faces his younger brother in a Wembley Stadium grudge match. The Brit has a long-standing rivalry with Jake and after a few warm-up fights this year will finally make the bout take place in 2023.

"I know it's an awkward, weird situation for Logan," KSI told Mirror Fighting on Thursday at a press conference for his boxing return at the O2 Arena, where he faces Swarmz and Luis Pineda in one night. "But I fully understand that he has to be 100 per cent for his brother.

"It's his blood, and yes; me and Logan are business partners. But if my brother was going to fight Logan I would absolute support my bro. I think Deji [KSI's brother] needs to focus on Fousey [his opponent this week] first before he gets to Logan Paul."

KSI has had a vicious feud with the younger Paul brother over the years and believes that he will be the man to end his professional winning streak. They were supposed to fight in 2020 but the coronavirus pandemic put paid to their plans and Paul continued his career, while KSI focused on music.

There appears to be a gap between the pair's skill levels since that initial fight was touted and now the Brit is looking to prove that he is on Paul's level. He is a massive star globally and plans to showcase his pay-per-view drawing ability as well as his boxing skills on Saturday.

"He says a lot of stuff just for the talk," KSI said of his rival. "He's all talk but for me he's just full of s***, I'm sorry but he's full of s***. He said he wanted to fight but it was all bulls***. It was him saying 'let's just fight', but it was a stalling tactic to make sure the event didn't happen.

"But it did happen, I'm fighting two people and I'm showing him that I'm serious about boxing. This is my first fight in three years, my warm-up fight and I'm pushing myself to the limit constantly making myself work so f*** Jake and sooner or later I will get to him."
