The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Officers’ Association (KSEBOA) will launch an indefinite protest in front of the Vydyuthi Bhavan, the KSEB headquarters at Pattom here, at 10 a.m. on Monday.
The Left officers' association and the KSEB management have been at loggerheads over policy-related issues and the suspension of two KSEBOA State leaders over a half-day protest held on April 5.
While Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty is expected to look into the issue on Tuesday, no talks involving the management or the association have been formally announced so far.
KSEB chairman and managing director B. Ashok had issued orders suspending KSEBOA president M.G. Suresh Kumar and general secretary B. Harikumar, which prompted the association to declare the indefinite stir from Monday. The KSEBOA had also announced that it would stop cooperating with the management without causing inconvenience to the public.
The KSEBOA had organised the half-day protest on April 5 in protest against the suspension of Jasmine Banu, executive engineer, on charges of keeping away from work without applying for leave.
