KSEB makes arrangements for smooth power supply

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has said it has put in place measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the general strike called by central trade unions on Monday and Tuesday.

In a statement here on Saturday, the KSEB said field offices had been directed to deploy breakdown/fault repair units at all major centres. The KSEB customer care centre would function round the clock. Consumers can contact on the toll-free number 1912 for lodging complaints.

Consumers can also contact the control rooms at the KSEB headquarters (0471 2448948 and 9446008825). Complaints can also be lodged via the KSEB's Facebook page and WhatsApp numbers. The mobile phone numbers of chief engineers are as follows: Thiruvananthapuram 9446008011, Ernakulam 9446008201, Kozhikode 9446008204, Kannur 9496010000.

All department heads in the transmission and distribution wings had been directed to report for work on both days and ensure that work progresses smoothly, the statement said.

Ration shops to open

Rations shops will function on Sunday in view of the general strike. Orders have been issued in this regard so as to ensure adequate ration supplies to the public as the functioning of other shops could be disrupted on Monday and Tuesday, the Civil Supplies department said.
