Kroger plans to eliminate around 3,000 corporate jobs over the next three years, putting more than a third of its corporate workforce at risk as the US grocery giant seeks to streamline operations and reduce costs.
Chief executive Greg Foran outlined the plan in a memo to staff on 12 October 2026, saying the company needed to eliminate duplicated work and reduce unnecessary corporate overheads. The cuts would affect approximately 37% of Kroger's 8,200 corporate employees, although the company has yet to identify the roles or departments affected.
