The Boston Celtics held off the Houston Rockets 116-107 on the road on Sunday night despite a strong second-half push from the Rockets, with star big man Kristaps Porzingis leading all players with 32 points, 5 rebounds and as many blocks, and star forward Jaylen Brown put up his first triple-double (13 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists) of the season while Derrick White (21 points, 12 boards) looked to be playing like an All-Star again.
Though the outcome of the game seemed assured almost from the start, Houston refused to go away, remaining within striking distance until the final moments of the contest. That the Celtics came away with a win on a night with Brown and Jayson Tatum combining for a 10-of-31 shooting night is a good sign — even if there is plenty to criticize regarding Tatum’s shot selection of late.
NBC Sports Boston’s Eddie House, Brian Scalabrine and Drew Carter join Amina Smith to talk about what they saw from Boston in their win over Houston.
