Krishna row: Centre turns down Telangana’s new tribunal plea

HYDERABAD: Telangana suffered a setback on the Krishna water sharing row with the Union law department reportedly turning down its proposal for either revising the terms of reference (TOR) to existing Krishna River Water Disputes Tribunal-II (KWDT) or setting up a new tribunal for reallocation of Krishna water.

The law department, which has been asked to advise on the issue by the Union ministry of jal shakti (MoJS), is believed to have given its counsel to MoJS recently contending that it is not advisable to revise the TOR of KWDT-II (Brajesh Kumar Tribunal) at this juncture, sources in CMO told STOI.
