Kris Boyd reveals Rangers 'funny feeling' he couldn't shake as pundit rips into 'terrible' defending

Kris Boyd admits Rangers were "terrible" at the back in their 3-3 draw with Ross County.

And the pundit insists he had a "funny feeling" his old team weren't going to leave the Highlands with three points.

It was a topsy-turvy clash in windy conditions in Dingwall as Rangers ultimately stumbled in their defence of the Premiership title.

Amad Diallo gave them the lead in the first half but County came flying back to lead at the half-time break. And despite James Tavernier and Connor Goldson getting Rangers back in front, a stoppage-time strike from Matthew Wright secured a priceless point for the Dingwall side.

It was a performance strewn with errors from Rangers with Allan McGregor in particular culpable for two of the goals. And Boyd says he was never confident in Gers given how shaky they were at the back.

He said on Sky Sports: "They did better in the second half, Connor Goldson got them ahead. But we were still sitting here saying 'I've got a funny feeling County might get something.'

"It was just one of those days. The defending was terrible all day."

Goldson scored the goal that looked to have won it for Rangers and Boyd thought it was "interesting" to see him kissing the badge.

The centre-back's contract is up in the summer and it's widely believed he will leave in the summer with English Championship sides circling.

But Boyd reckons the passion he showed in his celebration proved all hope isn't lost.

He went on: "I thought his celebration was interesting, kissing the badge. Is he going to stay? We don't know.

"But the contract is a discussion for another day. The defending from Rangers was really poor.

"When you come to places like this, with the conditions, you've scored three goals away to a team that's third-bottom of the league, and you haven't won the game.

"Van Bronckhorst will be extremely disappointed."
