KPMG Plymouth staff move to new offices at Royal William Yard

Business advisory firm KPMG has moved into new offices in Plymouth as it looks to expand its presence in the South West. The professional services firm, which has more than 50 staff in the city, has taken space at BLOCK Plymouth in the grade-I listed, ex-naval site Royal William Yard.

BLOCK Plymouth is an office and co-working space based in the Melville Building, with meeting facilities, a café, bar and gym on site. KPMG is set to complete its transition to the new offices by next month, it said.

Ian Brokenshire, office senior partner at KPMG in Plymouth, said: “The continued regeneration of Royal William Yard has been an incredible development for the city as it raises its profile and reputation as a great place to live and work. We’re committed to growing our team in Plymouth and BLOCK provides the flexibility we need as we expand to support the vibrant, and flourishing business community in the region.”

Andy Gordon, managing director at KPMG in Plymouth, said the space at BLOCK was "perfect" for KPMG as it helped staff "reconnect" and "thrive in their careers". He added: "We look forward to welcoming clients at our new home in the coming weeks.”

According to KPMG, the move to a larger office is part of the company's approach to a hybrid working environment. The business is planning to grow its team in Plymouth, supported by its ongoing graduate and apprentice programme.

The firm has also made two senior promotions in the south coast region, with Andrew Heale and Victoria Sewell’s from KPMG’s audit practice being made directors.
