Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that she still co-sleeps with her 10-year-old daughter.
The Hulu star, 43, addressed Penelope’s sleeping habits during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on Tuesday and explained that they still sleep in the same bed nearly “every day.”
She told podcast host Amanda Hirsch: “She’s slept with me every day since she was born and pretty much still does.
“Unless she has a friend sleep over or unless she leaves me to go sleep at Travis’ or Auntie Coco’s [Khloé Kardashian] or Auntie Kiki’s [Kim Kardashian]. But besides that, we are so close.”
Podcast host Hirsh praised the Poosh founder for going against convention calling her “a very all in” mother who “doesn’t follow any of the rules that [she’s] supposed to.”
Kardashian, who also has two sons Mason, 12, and seven-year-old Reign with ex Scott Disick, called Penelope her “mini-me” as she emphaised how similar she is to her.
The reality TV star continued: “I can’t even explain it, she is my girl that I do not worry about.
“Simon [Kardashian’s friend] always says she’s a mini-me, to her core. But we’ve spent so much time together and spend so much time together. And I just don’t worry about her.”
This isn’t the first time Kardashian addressed her children’s sleeping habits, previously writing a blog post for her website in 2018 in which she explained how she “had a different experience with each [of them]”.
In the blog, she said how reading The Attachment Parenting Book by Dr William Sears, when she was pregnant with Penelope, helped lessen stigma around co-sleeping.
Kardashian wrote that she practised “responsible joint sleeping” with her eldest son, Mason, until he was seven.
She shared at the time: “I remember going through times of trying to get him to sleep in his own bed. Many nights he would start off in his room and make his way into ours.
“I eventually embraced a family bed and followed his lead for when he was ready to sleep in his room. When he was seven, he started sleeping in his room on his own.”
Kardashian isn’t the only star to share their positive experiences with co-sleeping with Alicia Silverstone, Christina Ricci and Frankie Bridge all recently opening up about the method.
