Kostas Tsimikas is set to be assessed ahead of Saturday's Community Shield with Manchester City after missing the friendly with Red Bull Salzburg.
Tsimikas will not be involved when the Reds meet the Austrian champions at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday evening.
Jurgen Klopp has named a 29-man squad for the match with the Greek left-back absent due to a knee injury. James Milner starts on the left of defence with Andy Robertson likely to feature later in the game.

Tsimikas will be looked at ahead of the weekend's game with City at the King Power Stadium, although Klopp has intimated that the problem is not a serious one.
"He got a knock yesterday," Klopp said. "So he cannot play today. And all the rest, we will see later.
"We did what we wanted to do on and off the pitch. We told the lads the real work starts now and we've been doing two sessions a day. I think the boys have to fight through this, we have a shared team because of the Saturday game.

Alisson Becker is edging closer to a return to action after missing the friendlies with Crystal Palace and RB Leipzig with a minor issue, while Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were left on Merseyside last week for the trip to Austria after injuries of their own.
