Apisai Koroisau has gone from mocking Wests Tigers' premiership chances to being appointed as the club's new NRL captain for his first season at the joint-venture.

Koroisau created headlines in October when laughed at the suggestion of winning a title at the wooden spooners in the hours after Penrith's premiership success.
