Australia's national hockey teams have ended the Pro League leg in disappointment, the women's Hockeyroos losing 3-1 to table-topping China while the men's Kookaburras succumbed in a penalty shootout to the Netherlands after a 4-4 draw.
The Hockeyroos had been aiming to make it a perfect four-from-four at Sydney Olympic Park but were three down inside 20 minutes on Sunday night to the Paris 2024 silver medallists.
