KOLKATA: Several gated communities across the city have started implementing the ban on single use plastic by prohibiting vendors from carrying the banned variety inside the premises and sensitising the resident against the perils of using the single-use plastic.
Several residents’ welfare associations have started awareness campaigns inside the complexes to discontinue the use of single plastic. Social media platforms are being used to pitch several alternatives to the banned variety.
