The Kolkata police have sent a notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to provide relevant documents and information regarding the sale of tickets for the one-day international cricket match between India and South Africa held in Kolkata on November 5.
The police asked the BCCI authorities to provide information about the sale of tickets to the investigating officer of Kolkata’s Maidan police station by November 7. Two FIRs were filed at the station in connection with allegations of black marketing of tickets for the match. More than 20 people have been arrested allegedly for selling tickets in black for the World Cup clash.
Earlier, the authorities of CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) as well as online ticket booking portals were summoned by the police in connection with the sale of tickets. The police had served several notices to the CAB authorities on the issue before a representative appeared on Saturday.
