KOLKATA: Four gold bars weighing above 400 gms and worth Rs 20.8 lakhs — wrapped in black adhesive tapes — were found hidden under a seat of an IndiGo flight that reached Kolkata from Bangkok on Saturday. Customs officials said the gold bars were taped under seat 29F of IndiGo flight 6E 078.
There were no claimants, and none were arrested. Customs officials have started a probe and are questioning passengers seated close to 29F as well as airline and airport officials. Three weeks ago Customs officials seized two gold strips and one crude chain of 24K gold from a Dubai passenger on July 3.
