Kohl’s is launching Deal Bar, a nationwide front‑of‑store hub offering a rotating selection of trendy gifts, seasonal items and everyday essentials priced at $10 or less.
The Deal Bar, now installed at the entrance of all Kohl’s locations, is designed to appeal to cost‑conscious shoppers with small‑ticket items that are refreshed throughout the year, the retailer annouced in a news release earlier this month.
Similar to Bullseye's Playground at Target, the assortment includes everything from kids’ activity books and craft kits to seasonal décor, holiday‑themed goodies and practical lifestyle essentials.
Current displays, for example, feature party supplies and serving pieces tied to Easter, as well as spring decor and craft projects. Kohl’s also lists wellness accessories such as meal prep containers, jump ropes and yoga blocks among the offerings.
The retailer says the Deal Bar is intended to give customers a quick, affordable option for gifts, seasonal items and everyday needs; whether it’s stationery, storage solutions or small tokens for appreciation occasions like Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Weeks. Future offerings include Fourth of July party favors, according to the release.
Under CEO Michael Bender, who took the helm in November, the struggling department store saw some progress in the third quarter of 2025, even though sales continued to decline, according to Global Cosmetics News.
Analysts say Kohl’s could be a “sneaky upside story” as it corrects past missteps with coupons and private brands.
“We’re encouraged that improvement seems to come from [Kohl’s] simply listening to the consumer, bringing value back,” Evercore ISI analyst Michael Binett told Retail Dive.
Shoppers can explore Deal Bar products in person at Kohl’s stores nationwide or browse the selection online.
There are currently over 1,100 Kohl’s stores in 49 states, with eight out of 10 Americans living within 15 miles of one, according to the company.
