KOCHI: Ernakulam rural police arrested one person on Friday in the daytime robbery case, in which a five-member gang posing as income tax officers robbed a man in Aluva of around 300 grams of gold and Rs 1.8 lakh in cash.
The arrested person has been identified as Habibul Sheikh, 36, of Goa. Police said there are four more suspects in the case among them three are from Kerala and another one is from Goa.
On Sunday around 11 am the accused ‘raided’ the house of a Maharashtra native living in Aluva for nearly an hour and half. The gang told the house owner, who undertook gold ornament works, not to make phone calls and raided the house.
