KOCHI: Ernakulam additional sessions court-VI sentenced a Chullickal native for life imprisonment for murdering his brother in 2016.
The convict, Babu, was accused of murdering his brother Milton. The prosecution case was that the accused had enmity towards his brother, as he did not permit the accused to reside in his family home and did not agree to sell the family house. Hence, he inflicted stab injuries on the victim on various parts of his body at a building in Chullickal. The accused also stamped the victim wearing boots, resulting in fracture of ribs and larynx.
The court appreciated the prosecution, the investigators and the doctor who conducted the postmortem in the case, in its order. Though Milton died on September 13, 2016, his decomposed dead body was found only on the ninth day on September 21. “Even then, the prosecution has succeeded in collecting all the available circumstantial evidence, including an electronic document, to bring the offender under the law. Therefore, the investigation team and the prosecution also deserve appreciation,” the court order said.
