KOCHI: In a gruesome incident, a girl child aged barely two years was killed by the boyfriend of her paternal grandmother by drowning her in a bucket of water at a lodge in Kaloor, Kochi. Police arrested the accused, Binoy Stanley D’cruz (28) of Palluruthy, on Wednesday.
The deceased is Norah Maria, daughter of Sajeev of Angamaly, and she was aged one year and eight months. The crime happened around 2am on Tuesday at Olishia Lodge near Kaloor junction.
Police said the 50-year-old grandmother of the child, Sipsy, was in a relationship with Binoy and he has confessed to killing the child out of resentment towards her. The accused was staying with Sipsy and her two grandchildren at the lodge and Sipsy had gone out on Monday night, leaving the children in Binoy's custody.
