Liverpool will have made Aurelien Tchouameni a “priority” signing this summer, according to a former Premier League manager.
The Reds have been linked with the Monaco midfielder for the past few months, with those reports intensifying in recent weeks. Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been credited as clubs apparently showing an interest in Tchouameni.
As reported by the ECHO’s Ian Doyle last month , Liverpool's recruitment team have targeted a number of possible midfield targets with Tchouameni one such name. However, it is understood Real Madrid are clear favourites to sign the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.

Nevertheless, Tchouameni fits the profile of the player the Reds view as being able to add to the squad in terms of age, versatility and physical attributes. Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is another player who has been frequently linked with a move to Anfield.
Former Aston Villa and Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish believes that Liverpool will already have made signing Tchouameni a “priority” this summer.
“I think they’ll have already have identified him as a priority,” McLeish told Football Insider .
“Knowing Liverpool, knowing the way that Klopp works, he’s a consummate professional.
“They will have their little black book full of players from every position from all over the world.
“We’ll see Liverpool making business when they want to make business. It won’t be on the back pages of the sports papers.”
