Youths brandishing weapons caused panic at a funfair in Lanarkshire.
One knife-wielding teen fled to a nearby supermarket as he was chased from Airdrie's Katherine Park.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be name for legal reasons, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted having an offensive weapon - a knife - at Tesco in Connor Street, Airdrie, and elsewhere on September 24 last year.
Lauren Cole, prosecuting, said trouble flared at the funfair in Katherine Park around 6.30pm.
She told the court: "A group of youths were causing a disturbance.
"The accused emerged from the park in possession of a large kitchen knife.
"He was being pursued by two other male youths, one brandishing a piece of wood and the other a bottle.
"The accused ran into Tesco but the other two youths were prevented from doing so by store security guards.
"They stayed at the entrance to the store and threw their weapons at the accused who then held the knife above his head before pursuing the other two into the store car park."
Police officers had been alerted to the funfair trouble and officers saw a number of youths running along Towers Road.
The accused, still carrying the knife, was chased by the officers and arrested.
He told them he hadn't gone out with the weapon but had found it at the funfair.
Sheriff Fergus Thomson deferred sentence on the youth until next month for background reports and he had his bail continued.
