Brandin Podziemski has been an impressive addition to the Golden State Warriors roster. The 20-year-old wing has earned a consistent role in the rotation and has consistently made an impact when checking into the game. As such, Podziemski is already proving to be a steal in the 2023 draft, where he was selected 19th overall.
When speaking to the media on Monday (Nov. 27) Klay Thompson shared his thoughts on the rookie’s early-season performance. The veteran sharpshooter even went as far as to claim Podziemski was the biggest steal on draft night.
“I love BP,” Thompson said. “He plays really hard, and he comes to work every day with so much joy. He’s a great young player to have around who is trying to make the most of his ability, and I know he will. And I know he’s going to have a great NBA career … Love BP. Got a great looking jump shot, and he’s a great pass, a great rebounder, and he’s just looking like a steal of the draft.”
In his 12 games so far, Podziemski is averaging 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 43.8% shooting from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range. As the season progresses, we will undoubtedly see Podziemski in new spots on the floor as he looks to improve and extend his overall game.

Having some young contributors who can make an impact off the bench is integral for a Warriors team whose stars are all getting deeper into their thirties. Podziemski will have an exceptional NBA education with Golden State and could be a big part of the franchise’s future if given the opportunity.
