Kirsty Gallacher latest star to be booted from Celebrity MasterChef after salt mishap

Kirsty Gallacher is the latest star to be booted off Celebrity MasterChef.

The Scottish TV presenter, 46, said her goodbyes to her fellow celebrity components after she suffered a disastrous cooking mishap after pouring too much salt into her dish.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace have been putting twenty celebrities to the test on the BBC show in recent weeks, and unfortunately, Kirsty was the one who lost out tonight.

The four contestants made crepe suzettes, an Indian dish, and a brunch dish, with Richard Blackwood, Lesley Joseph and Jimmy Bullard left.

After trying the four contestants' final meals, a brunch dish, judges John and Gregg reflected on the line up.

John said of Kirsty: "She seems to get lots of work done, then slows down to the last minute, where she panics."

Gregg added that Kirsty's brunch dish was "lovely" with "wonderful flavours."

While the judges deliberated, Kirsty said she wanted to stay in the competition, telling the camera: "If they think I am someone they can work with then that's all I want. I would like to go further but I can't do any more than that."

Upon learning she was leaving the show, the TV presenter said: "I have loved every minute of it. I think probably I have gone as far as correct for me and actually those three are the three that should go through."

Upon learning she had made it through, Lesley, who impressed the judges with her crepe suzettes, said she felt "jubilant" and "beyond excited."

Hollyoaks actor Richard said: "I think people at home don't truly understand how elated it makes you feel to get to that point. I am really happy."

The line-up of this year's series includes former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas – who previously won Celebrity Big Brother – as well as Love Island alum Faye Winter.

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Katya Jones and former world boxing champion Chris Eubank – who appeared on I'm a Celebrity in 2015 – have also take part.

McFly singer Danny Jones and former footballer Jimmy Bullard have also taken to the kitchen for the competition, as well as former EastEnders star and Hollyoaks actor Richard Blackwood.
