Kirkstall Bridge Inn pub beer garden engulfed by flood as torrential rain batters Leeds

A Leeds pub beer garden has completely flooded as torrential rain batters the city.

The River Aire has burst its banks and poured into the Kirkstall Bridge Inn Beer Garden, covering the seating area.

The Environment Agency warned this morning (February 20) that flood alerts were in place for the River Aire and also Wyke Beck, Meanwood Beck and Wortley Beck catchments.

A staff member at the pub said: "It's happened before so we're coping well.

"We've been through it before, it's fine."

A yellow weather warning is in place until 6pm, as the rainy weather continues.

Another major storm is on the way in Yorkshire with high winds and heavy rain set to land later today (Sun).

The Met Office has named the storm set to sweep across the UK in the coming hours as Storm Franklin.

High winds and heavy rain will continue into Monday, but gusts are not expected to reach the heights of those of Storm Eunice.
