Chase Herbstreit is heading to Michigan.
Having played his high school ball at St. Xavier in Cincinnati, OH, Herbstreit isn’t following in his dad’s footsteps, and that isn’t the most shocking thing in the world, especially considering how difficult it would be for him to get on the field with the Buckeyes.
Herbstreit is an unranked quarterback in the Class of 2025 and had attended a camp at Penn State. He was offered by Michigan Sunday as well. Here is one of the many reports citing Herbstreit’s decision.
St. Xavier Senior QB Chase Herbstreit has committed to Michigan.

The Buckeyes have the legacy of the father though, having had Kirk in the program from 1989-1992. He played in 38 games and ended with 2,263 passing yards and 5 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.
With Tavien St. Clair, the No. 2 quarterback in the upcoming class, having committed to Ohio State, there will be no shortage of high-level quarterback talent in Columbus next season. Herbstreit will be in the same locker room as the No. 1 overall quarterback commit, Bryce Underwood, next season.
