The Minnesota Vikings traded for former Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers nearly two weeks ago. One of the reasons the Rams traded him was that he wasn’t a personality fit in the locker room
After nearly two weeks with the Vikings, starting quarterback Kirk Cousins was glowing about Akers, calling him good for morale.
“I like this guy, this guy is bringing good energy to our huddle and line of scrimmage. That was awesome.”
This isn’t something that you heard a lot about with Akers in Los Angeles. Before trading him to the Vikings, the Rams had tried to trade him once prior back in 2022.
Through one game, Akers feels like a great fit playing for his former offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell. He only ran the ball five times but earned 40 yards in the process while also catching two passes for 11 yards.
It was a slow introduction for Akers, but it seems to be working out well.
