Kirby Smart provides injury update on Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

Georgia sophomore defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins has yet to see action during the 2023 college football season due to a foot injury. Ingram-Dawkins was expected to be a rotation player along Georgia’s defensive front.

The former five-star recruit recorded 10 total tackles and recovered a fumble last season. A healthy Ingram-Dawkins would bolster Georgia’s run defense.

Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart updated Ingram-Dawkins’ status ahead of the Georgia-Kentucky game.

He’s still the same deal. We’re on non-weight bearing, waiting for some pictures to come back. He had a four-week shutdown, and then after five weeks we will take another picture to see where it’s at and decide whether or not we can wrap up.

Unfortunately, this is not a great update on Ingram-Dawkins. It sounds like Georgia is expecting to get more information on Ingram-Dawkins’ foot in the next week or so. The Bulldogs would need Ingram-Dawkins to work on some conditioning once he is able to return due to the length of his absence.

Hopefully Ingram-Dawkins can make progress. Kirby Smart previously described Ingram-Dawkins’ injury as a navicular foot issue.

Georgia will continue to rely on defensive line players such as Warren Brinson, Zion Logue, Nazir Stackhouse, Tramel Walthour and Mykel Williams to play a lot of snaps.
