
Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart provided a number of health updates on several key Bulldogs entering spring football practice. Georgia’s spring practice begins on March 12, but numerous Dawgs will not be participating due to offseason surgeries, recent injuries or injuries that are still lingering from the fall.
Unfortunately, Georgia tight end Pearce Spurlin is medically disqualified due to a heart condition. That was Georgia’s most significant injury update entering the spring.
Georgia’s annual spring football scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, April 13. The spring game, G-Day, will begin at 1 p.m. ET and be televised on SEC Network+.

Offensive tackle Bo Hughley

Bo Hughley underwent surgery on his left labrum and will miss spring practice. Hughley’s absence combined with Chad Lindberg’s transfer means Georgia will be thin at offensive tackle this spring.
Defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

Georgia defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins battled through a foot injury during the 2023 season and had surgery on it ahead of spring practice. Ingram-Dawkins is expected to miss spring practice, but is projected to return for the fall.
Linebacker Kris Jones

Kris Jones signed with Georgia as a member of the class of 2024. The early enrollee previously underwent surgery on his foot and is expected to be limited this spring. Jones is a four-star recruit.
Defensive tackle Christen Miller

Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller is expected to play a large role for the Bulldogs this fall. Miller will be limited this spring after having meniscus surgery.
Linebacker Smael Mondon

Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon will miss another spring. Mondon has a stress fracture in his foot and is out for the spring, but is expected to return in time for fall camp.
Running back Branson Robinson

Kirby Smart noted Branson Robinson is in month seven of his nine month recovery from a torn patella tendon. Robinson, who is running, is not cleared for the spring, but should be better in a few months when he gets closer to his nine month timeline.
Safety Malaki Starks

Georgia superstar safety Malaki Starks is limited this spring after undergoing shoulder surgery. Starks’ previous partner at safety, Javon Bullard, is entering the NFL draft, so Georgia needs to find who will start opposite Starks.
Wide receiver Rara Thomas

Georgia wide receiver Rara Thomas is entering his second season with the Dawgs. Thomas is still recovering from a foot injury, but is taking some repetitions and is expected to be limited this spring.
Outside linebacker Damon Wilson

Georgia outside linebacker Damon Wilson is a key player for the Bulldogs after Georgia lost outside linebacker depth to the transfer portal. Wilson had meniscus surgery and is fully active now.
Wide receiver Colbie Young

Miami transfer Colbie Young is recovering from an ankle injury. Young is expected to be limited this spring.
Defensive back Demello Jones

Four-star defensive back signee Demello Jones is recovering from a hamstring injury. Jones is expected to be limited this spring.
Tight end Pearce Spurlin

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart shared the unfortunate news that Pearce Spurlin, a sophomore tight end, is medically disqualified due to a congenital heart condition. Spurlin will remain on scholarship.
