Kinnoull show "phenomenal" energy levels in 2-2 Tulloch Park draw with Dunipace

The energy levels and work-rate of Kinnoull’s players was “phenomenal” in their 2-2 draw with Dunipace on Saturday.

That was the view of manager Alan Cameron following the entertaining First Division encounter played in scorching sunshine at Tulloch Park.

Ben Ragan and Pat Brown were on the scoresheet for the Perth side to maintain an unbeaten start to the season.

“Conditions were tough for both sets of players - and managers sitting in the sunlight,” Cameron smiled.

“We’re not used to playing in heat like that but the boys’ energy levels and work-rate were phenomenal.”

With the score level at the interval, Kinnoull would fall behind twice after the break but recovered on both occasions.

A stunning opener from Dunipace’s Caleb MacNeil was cancelled out moments later when Ragan nodded in at the back post.

The visitors were soon back ahead - again with a screamer - thanks to the left boot of David Grant, who had worked his way in from flank.

But Kinnoull refused to be beaten and neat link-up between Smith and Brown allowed the latter to level the fixture for the final time.

“We were playing a very good Dunipace team who would be disappointed going in at the break at 0-0,” Cameron admitted. “They had two or three good opportunities.

“We weren’t fully at it in the first half and were a bit slack with our marking.

“But second half I think we came out with a new purpose and were on the front foot. Full credit to our boys as they kept going and kept working hard.

“We got a thoroughly deserved point on the balance of the 90 minutes. It was two decent teams battling it out head-to-head.”
