Bayern Munich pipped Borussia Dortmund to win the Bundesliga on Saturday, with both the club and winger Kingsley Coman winning their 11th league titles in a row.
Coman has now won eight successive league titles for Bayern since joining in 2015, with 11 in total during his career. What makes this stat remarkable is the fact that it he has still won a league title during every single season of his career, with the first coming back in 2012/13 as a 16-year-old, making just a single appearance as PSG won their first league title following their Qatari takeover.
He won again in his second season with the French club in 2013/14 before leaving Paris to join Juventus. He spent just a single season in Italy, but won Serie A before a loan move to Bayern for two seasons and a permanent deal was secured in 2017 to continue a successful partnership between the club and player.
This run was under threat ahead of Saturday's finale, with Bayern facing a two point deficit to Dortmund. The Black and Yellow were hosting ninth placed Mainz at home and looked hot favourites to snatch the title away for the first time since 2011/12.
The winger scored the opening goal for Bayern on Saturday, with the French winger scoring in the eighth minute. With Dortmund losing at home to Mainz, the goal had looked to be enough, but an 81st minute Koln penalty left Bayern needing a goal to snatch the league title back.
This goal came from Jamal Musiala, with the young German's 89th minute strike winning the title for Bayern in dramatic final day scenes. They beat Dortmund on goal difference, with a 2-2 draw salvaged by the Black and Yellow by two second-half goals.
Coman has become one of Europe's best known wingers, with his crossing ability in particular noted as being one of his best assets. However, he also chips in with important goals, adding Saturday's early effort to his catalogue of crucial Bayern strikes, with the winner in the 2020 Champions League final being his most important.
This season's title win takes him beyond Lionel Messi (10) to become one of just six players to have won exactly 11 top European league titles in their careers, with Manuel Neuer also joining the group on Saturday.
Former Bayern winger Arjen Robben also reached the milestone during his career, albeit in his mid thirties, joining another ex-Bayern man Thiago Alcantara with Gianluigi Buffon and Paul Scholes also on 11.
Also on Saturday, Bayern's Thomas Muller joined Real Madrid legend Paco Gento on 12, with Gary Neville also having won that number under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. However, the most decorated player in Europe remains another loyal Manchester United servant, Ryan Giggs, with the then 39-year-old winning a 13th and final league title in 2013.
Coman, however, is only just reaching his prime and will likely top that figure should he remain at Bayern, with another decade at the top level expected for the Frenchman.
