Taking to TikTok, one Edinburgh resident spotted the King "from his tenement kitchen window while having dinner".
In the video, King Charles is seen leaving Archers' Hall in the southside of Edinburgh and jumping into his much-loved Rolls Royce.
The TikTok user wrote: "Just another day in my life. Saw Charlie Boy from my kitchen window while casually having my dinner."
One replied: "Lucky!!"
Another commented: "Major Johnny as well" - referring to Major Johnny Thompson, of the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland.
He is the King's equerry, which is an officer of the royal household who assists members of the royal family. He is responsible for the planning and execution of the His Majesty's daily programmes.
As the flash car drives away, a group of people are seen on the corner of Buccleuch Street, who appear to be taken back as police cars and security escort Charles away.
The Archer's Hall is the clubhouse to the Royal Company of Archers, a ceremonial unit serving as a bodyguard to the King in Scotland.
An extension to the building offers accommodation for 75 Edinburgh University students.
